Blogging
This is the time of year where I’m out visiting our member libraries, so I haven’t had much time to monitor my favorite blogs. However, I bookmarked a great little post from last fall by Hugh Mcguire called Why Academics Should Blog. What captured me is simplicity and resonance of the 9 points he makes. Even if you wonder—is anyone reading this stuff—you begin to notice that it just doesn’t matter. By expressing your ideas and opinions, you begin to organize and consider topics more fully and therefore, increase your understanding. If you are thinking about starting a blog but just haven’t taken the leap—maybe this will persuade you that it’s an endeavor worth the effort.
